Facilities

Böds are very basic accommodation. Some Böds in remote locations have no electricity, heating or lighting. However, each Böd has space to cook and an area for eating and sleeping.  Recent improvements have added additional facilities to some properties including a fridge, crockery, kettle, basic cooking utensils and cooking facilities.

There is a cold water supply and toilet facilities. A table, benches, a broom and dustpan and washing up bowl are provided. Both sexes share the same sleeping area and you must be prepared to share with other visitors. But that's part of the fun of a Böd holiday!

Electricity, where avalible, is provided by means of a coin meter.  The meter takes £1.00 coins, and it is recommended that you ensure you have coins with you.

Where solid fuel fires are provided, bags of peat are available to purchase from the custodian at £5.00 per bag.
